Movingui is an African hardwood that is also known by the names Ayan and Eyen. The wood color is yellowish brown, which gets darker with age. The grain is usually interlocked or wavy but can be straight also. It has a fine to medium texture. Due to the presence of silica, the blunting effect is high. Movingui timber is generally easy to work with and can be easily glued, peeled, sliced and finished. It is moderately durable against termite attacks and fungi. The applications for Movingui sawn timber ranges from veneering to panelling, flooring, furniture, joinery, and carpentering.
